Hi, I'm Marty. I'm from a town that has a constant...rural smell to it and live next to some exclusive brethren. I've taken Japanese for like five years now, and still get annoyed when people give me looks of confusion when I say I don 't like anime.

I was inspired by my High-School English texts to write novels: they were so shitteously boring and shallow that half of the class actually didn't read the book before going into the exam. They were so badly written and pretentious that I can't even believe they got published (for example, the most recent school text didn't even have a conclusion; it just stopped mid-narrative). I just knew I could do about 2918981x better than that. My first novel is currently in progress and its turning out (surprisingly) good, albeit very silly. Hell, I can't wait to see if anyone will publish it.

I update sporadically; usually to ramble away about music or something. Did I mention I'm a big fan of pop music? I really like to figure out what exactly is makes certain songs so popular (then I totally steal the idea for myself and compose something similar). On the other hand, I despise bad pop music. Y'know, something with the worst melody possible, and with a arrangement that would even make passing centipedes try and top themselves (i.e. the majority of album tracks in Chinese music). Don't even get me started on stupid lyrics...

I'm moving to Auckland for Uni soon, too. Woot.
