'kay, so I'm finally back from holiday.

We did a week up in Auckland for the whole Christmas-with-Relatives thing, and Christms as a whole was pretty standard. Angelina's now two and went straight from the cute-little-munchkin stage to cute-little-ZOMGSURICRUISE. I'll seriously dig out a picture soon and show everyone, she is soo the splitting image of her and just as sweet. She's talking pretty well and reading a bit too, which is really out there for two according to dad.

I got a lappy for Christmas, by the way! It looked great and everything, except for the fact that it was just kinda...broken. Somehow the hard drive corrupted itself in the two weeks it took dad to get it up to Auckland, but ah well, it's not as if I had anything on it. 's kinda worrying though for anything in the future.

Oh yeah, I met up with Julie (

Oh yeah, I met up with Julie (<lj-user="kakeochi_umai">), luckily skipping the drama that was the messy family conference about sorting out my brother. We walked around and went to a million different McDonalds for no apparent reason! It was one of the best walk-around-and-do-nothing days ever, though it's a shame they had nothing on at the movies 'cept that Magorium Shopatorium thing.

The next week we stayed at Ohakune, which is such a middle-of-sweet-fucking-nowhere town that it felt so much like home. It's one of those winter resort towns, so it was almost totally deserted. We just lounged around and watched TV all day, which was great. Hell, the only thing that even registered above the general hubbub of nothingness was Jimmy.

Jimmy being the hungriest and slowest horse in the entire stable at the horse trekking place, hoboy. If we didn't stop to eat everything in the path, it was to wee everywhere. And that's how it went for the next two hours, just dad, a German girl, the two guides and me with the stoppy horse. It plodded along at its own accord too, and wouldn't start/stop on command or anything I wanted it to do. It was prolly more that I just sucked at dealing with horses than anything, but those were a long two hours. Ah well, despite everything it was pretty fun (though everyone is right about your behind hurting like hell afterwards, oh how they were right).

There's lots of stuff I didn't add in, like about mum getting freaked over the concrete centre between the lanes on the motorway, and some more about how adorable my niece was, but I'm sure I can fit all that in some other time.
